Nas Signs Deal to Write Autobiography

Hip-hop legend Nas has signed a deal with HarperCollins to pen his first memoir. It Ain't Hard to Tell, a book co-written by Rolling Stone contributing editor Touré, is expected to hit stores in the fall of 2012.

"I've been talking to Nas about writing his autobiography for 15 years," Touré tweeted earlier today. "This is hip-hop history. We'll tell his life and deconstruct some songs."

Nas' book is likely to follow the template set by his Decoded, the 2010 memoir penned by the rapper's occasional rival Jay-Z, who set out to demystify his craft and provide context for his autobiographical lyrics.
